It was done in color first before finally converted to B&W by using B&W gradient layer in Photoshop since I am a big sucker for B&W images. Here is the color version right before the conversion:

D800 at ISO 3200 the lens was wide open at f/1.4. To get to f/4, it had to be pushed to ISO 25600, which I felt that might ruin the shot at the time. Thanks for the suggestion tho.
