I have the old 30mm 1.4 DC and I am quite curious about improvements in the new lens. I found a first review on the web:

I don't find the review particularly useful but I think it would be nice to have a thread where we can post any information about this lens.

No, these are two different lenses.

The 35/1.4 EX and 30/1.4 DC are not the same lens.

I pre-ordered mine from B&H on March 12th...seems like there were some delays. Was originally supposed to be available by March 31st. It's currently on a first-come-first-serve basis.

But I just got a tracking confirmation that it should arrive tomorrow or Thursday...yess!!

I noticed it's also backordered on Sigma's site. However, as of right now, there are 4 left on Amazon, from Beach Camera :

A lot better than the old one, at least. Wonder if it's APS-H compatible (the old one had moderate vignetting up until about f/5, then it became objectionable).

My old 30mm was more than useable wide open, from the review above the new one doesn't look that great wide open...

Well, MTF compares favorably to Canon 24mm 1.4 L II, and very favorably to the 28mm 1.8 ... definitely worth considering.

As far as I know you can not compare MTFs from two different manufacturers. I might be wrong tough.
