Hello all!
I have a very embarrassing situation. I have a new computer with plenty of resources (i7 IvyBridge, 32GB RAM, SSD, good video card, etc) running Windows 8.
I tried to install Lightroom 4.3 then the new 4.4 and each time the system freezes after first clicks when it suppose to start copying the files.
I have all updates done for OS, BIOS, chipset, etc...
I've run sfc/scannow to find eventually broken files...
I tried to run as administrator... then troubleshoot compatibility... the same result...
I changed from "normal startup" to "diagnostic startup"... Here I get a different result. The files are copied up to about 75%, then stops giving an error message (1935) and if I click OK it uninstall everything very fast. Here is a screenshot:
Can you suggest me a solution for this issue? I feel very bad... using computers for 21+ years and never having such as situation. I mention that everything else I installed on the system works as a charm.

Your OS is genuine ? You maybe should reinstall your OS after formatting your "C" partition and download LR 4.4 again from adobe website. All these should cover all posibilities.

Yes, I have a genuine disk of Win 8 purchased together with the system.
I tried first with LR 4.3... then I downloaded LR 4.4... nothing changed.
I hope to find a solution w/o to format and reinstall the OS. It is a PITA to do it, considering how much time I need to do it, to reconfigure it and to set up again email and other software.

After you've installed Win 8, first update it until it says that there are no more updates for it, because on disk your OS does not have Netframework 3.0 ,3,5 and 4,0, and there are many more goodies that helps on compatibility with the other software that you will install after that.

Howard, no tread from me on dpreview - I do not frequent it. Just one on photo.net... Yes, it may be a problem with NET framevork. I'm working right now on it.
Gabi, if nothing will change and I'll have to reinstall OS I'll do as you are suggesting.
