Prefer to color to BW, not sure about the water surface tho, awfully busy - know beyond your control.

p.1 #4 · A Gator, Two Ways

I think you need the hue variation to help garner distinction / separation between the gator and the water. The B&W seems a bit like an indiscernible jumble of texture. That being said, the B&W would make an interesting jigsaw puzzle challenge.

imagine you are a critter that can only see BW and movement!
