Thanks to threads on this forum, I ended up getting an RX1 and so far I am liking it a lot. I will be mostly keeping the camera and will be adding EVF, Hood soon.
I am looking for compact bag that does not shout expensive gear inside (good example. Domke F5XB)
Would like to know how you guys carry the camera and what bag are you using.
I use a think tank Retrospective 5. That is perhaps a little larger than one needs however. I have also used a Pacsafe Venturesafe hip pack when traveling abroad. It easily holds the RX1with lens hood attached, EVF, batteries, a charger and more.
A great little camera that travels well.
I use a Billingham digital the RX1, evf, charger and a couple of spare batteries fit comfortably but I must admit the Domke looks nice might be a bit bigger than the Billingham.
I guess it depends what kind of look you are after.
The Domke F5XB looks rustic but has a serious deficit of pockets. The ThinkTank Retrospective 5 is almost as rustic but affords a little better protection and more pockets. I use one for my Olympus E-P3 and an extra lens or two. It travels well, has a comfy strap and useful places to hide your iPhone, SD cards, tickets, sunglasses, etc. The only gotcha is it is so small it is dangerously close to purse territory (Murse). The Pinestone color (faded olive) is the most manly hue. The next size up--R7--is way too big for a mirror less but looks more like a normal rustic messenger than a purse and has room for an iPad and water bottle.
