I have searched and searched but can't seem to find any way to see who is replying to what post. Is there a different format for the forum besides the flat layout, that I'm missing?
Nope, all discussion threads are "flat." It's up to the posters to be clear who/what they are responding to, by using the "quote" button or specifically naming who they are talking to. While this sometimes creates difficult-to-untangle multiple-conversation threads, I personally like it, since it keeps everyone involved in the main discussion instead of interesting posts getting "lost" deep in side branches.
