This is a small part of what's wrong with this society, some people just don't want to work. They want to be "given" things in life. What happened to working for what we want? Maybe I' m off base here, we support various charities both corporately and personally but this one just struck a nerve.
Yeah, it's the "God Bless" Part that rocks And this ad for somebody who lives in "Haverford?" Poor bunny . Hey, when ya got a good thing a goin' down on the Urban Plantation, you might just as well ask for more Who knows, maybe an iPhone will show up
"A friend suggested I throw it out there into the universe (ala Craigslist) and see what happens.."
And the answer is.... NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.
This guy believes that 'a sucker is born every minute' while hoping the limitless reach of the internet will fulfill his dreams. Unfortunately for him people need a sad story these days to get money for nothing, the exceptions being Snookie, Honey Boo-Boo, the Kardashians, Paris Hilton, NRA, and political parties. Some are lucky enough to become a contestant on TV show that frowns upon intelligence or skill. And then there's the ultimate winner on a makeover show who signs off on having others trash their dump of a house only to be tastefully rebuilt because their son is allergic to dust, and his sister's ailment requires her to spend the daylight hours shuttered in her room, but fortunately the makeover team renovated it in a vampire theme complete with a casket so it's like heaven for her. Freebies.... it's the new American way.
I have been dreaming about a sport car and a house. Please buy them for me. I'm not asking for much. I'm only asking for a Porches 911 and a 4000 square feet house with 2 acres lot. Porche is only one eigth of a Lamborghini. Please please please do this for my daughter.
Hell, he ought to move to CO. A good perk out there, especially if one happens to be "illegal" Shucks, he might just save enough to get his gear if he "qualifies."
Someone needs to hook him up with that Nigerian guy looking for someone he can have his fortune sent to in order to get it out of his country. I understand the reward on that will allow him buy "new" gear!
I'll try this in the buy and sell forum and see how far it gets....NOT!
Lets see.....Hi I'm Charlie . My passion is shooting wildlife but my pesky 70-200LMKII 2.8 isn't enough to capture gods beauty and I cant afford the 500Lf/4 i sooo need so Im hoping an here on FM can donate one to me. I've NEVER asked for anything before honest.
Well, at least the guy has got a Facebook, Flickr presence and a website to boot. Those pictures look pretty similar to those I've seen taken in the Luxembourg Gardens, and he's advertising to get bucks to fund his Paris project, reporting on RFF that he got a donation that allowed him to get 20 rolls of film. I don't know what the price is of film in Paris - I just took digital gear.
What's wrong with not wanting to work for something if you don't have to ? ? ?
Isn't that what Vegas, Atlantic City, betting and the lottery are all about?
People have expensive tastes, and why sweat for it if you can get some altruistic sucker out there to swallow your sad sob story.
Heck, the other day, I saw on Google news or Yahoo news about some new web site called Sugar Daddy.com (or something like that) that hooks up college coeds with older more financially established men. The women are basically asking for money so that they can lead the kind of life they think they are deserving of. I'm sure it amounts to providing escort services to some of the Daddys, but I bet there are cases where no real service is provided. I think in many cases the Sugar Daddy and the Coed aren't even in the same city.
Hey, if there's a chance you can get money for nuthin, or next to nuthin', might as well go for it.
"There's a sucker born every day." " A fool and his money are soon parted."
