It is elegant to take the mono chromatic birds and bring life into them Tim and you did just that on both #1 and #2. I am a big fan of birds like this that may seem to be a bit boring but when done just right they are standouts
I would have to say that I quote you from one my recent images regarding your #1 image: 'IMHO for something as common as this guy the whole shot is quite important, kind of like a floral, you don't want the bg to compete for your eye
By the way, #2 BG rocks
Cormie over foamy is just lovely my friend!

Yes indeed Karl, I have taken a shine to shooting monochromatic birds, I just love to show how they really aren't monochromatic As to your background comment, well you are spot on in a way and I was thinking about you when I processed the shot. My only defense is that I don't get the chance to photograph these guys that often. Still point well taken.
Thanks for the good words and for keeping me in line

Cool set Tim. #1 looks quite similar to our common grackle. I'm not sure I'd tell the difference if I saw one. #1 and 3 are my picks. I'm glad you're starting to see the sun again, I'll be expecting some Virginia rails from you very soon along with some more kayak goodies.
Thanks for the good words and kind thoughts Herb! Oh I'm looking forward to sunny days in the yak!!!!!

Mr. and Mrs. BB are both pretty cool looking... beautiful color in both, and I really like the pose she struck for you Tim.
Sweet light on those two Cormies... #3 is my fave, but the foamy water in the BG of #4 is unique and nice to see.
Great stuff as always Tim.
Kirk
Thanks so much Kirk!!! I was thrilled with the chance at the BBs More cormies and foam coming up
