I doubt that the quality of Nikon is measurably different than Canon.
I wouldn't use the "tweeting" that goes on in the forums as a legit stats basis for anything.
If you look in a Nikon forum, you hear complaints about Nikon.
If you look in a Canon forum..... You get the idea.
What a problem to have, too many mega pixels & too much dynamic range

If I could afford a D800, I would get one just for the experience.
But my images aren't hurting for mega-pixels so its just as well.

Well, they are invested into video technology a lot but return is not near as high as even Rebel's sale That is why they are pushing it all over.
Yes, facebook/twitter and other cr,p social media don't need SLR, no quality there required and iphone is enough. But still many people would like to do good photos and that is where SLR is and will be.
That is why they are pushing it all over.
