I just plucked one from the FM buy-sell section. I'll probably wait for the new Sigma 120-300/2.8 to save money and have a zoom. Trying to get the best of both worlds.

Are you shooting with the VR I or VR II? If both do you see a difference in AF speed?

That's what I've been reading in the reviews. AF and IQ are my primary concerns. Thanks again.

TM, I am posting from Flickr and exif is there Settings: 1/2000 f/5.6 800 ISO. Not sure why my link didn't embed. I was out of range - 30meters so its smeared.

Ahhh, was interested in metering choice/WB/EC My shots range from 40-75 yds or so, no noise @ 100% crops
so something's amiss...settings?! Just curious...

Love your posts, learn a ton and the images are pleasing to my eye. No cranes in NJ, I don't think many would tune in to see the state bird, the mosquito and the seagull. Love it.
