My experience - Asus Great.....Windows 8 - not so much...
mine is different...Asus is great (i use their desktop components) and windows 8 rules! Its just like windows 7...but better after you're done tweaking it to your liking.

It crashes when I do anything..just crashed a few minutes ago when I was checking my email. And the Windows 8 version of BSOD is a sad face... real professional windows, quit being cutesy and give me back Windows 7.
Have you checked the event logs - or does 8 even have them?
Normally you can get a computer with one OS back if ordered online, but that does nothing if there is actually a hardware issue.
I'm liking the Dell XPS-12 a lot. Didn't think I would with Win8 and not so many ports. But I guess I dig Win8 and the ports are all cared for via cheap-o (OMG Fast) USB3 devices. Most of hat I like about it is the form-factor and build quality. Feels like I could play frisbee with the thing and it wouldn't break. Although I kinda doubt it would be able catch very many and I might be waiting a long time for the return throws.
