Yes, Ian! Pretty awesome isn't it? These shots just a first test snaps. Gonna put this little gorgeous cam trough some more serious shooting in the next few days. BTW your images (I saw them first on Flickr) were one of reasons I went for the X100S.

Beautiful colours and light here. Have the colours been filtered / manipulated? I'm not judging, just interested

^ Consumer's paradise ;-) My Russian is unfortunately rusty - at least I can read the important stuff like „Moskovskaya".
Btw, is that a Feiseler Storch above (the orange plane)?

Georg, for sure it's not a Storch ; it looks like an Auster.

Re the plane - no it's a British Auster T7 light training aircraft. It does have several similarities with the Storch at first glance.

Re the poster - it advertises all kinds of things from caviar to matches. Mostly unobtainable, esp in the provinces.

Philippe & Ian - thanks for the clarification!
Ian, I could read most of the stuff on the poster, but some vocabs left my mind (I had 6 years of Russian-lessons in my east-german childhood). The remark "Consumer's paradise" was just a sarcastic reply - I'm well aware about the situation in the USSR back then. That said, I really like your work with the Fuji X100 (s).

Lovely shots Ian! I like the results from RAW. Looks sharer and more detailed.

Is raining all days here, but yesterday at some moment sun broke trough the clouds and it turned out to be a lovely evening. So I grabbed the cam and shot some more test shots in my backyard. All at F2, ISO between 400 and 640, handheld. First 3 are processed in LR4 from RAW and the last for comparison is SOC JPG shot in Velvia mode.

So far I am very happy with what I get from this little cam. Next week some portraits and street.

Cheers,
Martynas

When did you get the X100s? Do you think its a worthwhile update to the original? If I can get close like I can with tubes on my D7000, I may really look hard at this camera. I know folks have used diopters with it, but i have only seen a couple good shots with the X100s and a diopter, so I am reserving judgement. Are you seeing any of the plasticy look with yours?

I think it's a worthwhile update with useable manual focus, better EVF, sharper files and easier handling (AF button, Q button).

However my biggest reservation would be the macro area. I certainly wouldn't get it if that were my thing.

No plasticky look here (generally at high iso that I haven't had to use yet) but I have seen the foliage issue. Doesn't bother me at all.

(mistakenly posted this by it's self instead of in this thread)

I still have the X100 but didn't use it much because the AF just couldn't keep up with the kids, otherwise I loved the camera.

With the great reviews of the S and it's AF performance I bought one a few days before going to Vancouver for a wedding photography convention.

Anyhow, I'm happy with it so far, AF is much improved and for the most part is now usable with the kids and that says a lot considering my D4 has trouble sometimes and no I'm not saying it's better than the D4.

Here are some images as from the streets of Vancouver, shot in RAW and edited in LR with my own little evolving preset, same preset I used with my D4.
