Um sorry pal. If I am out photographing in a public park/recreation area and a family approaches my vicinity, I immediately put my camera down from my face. I do not need accusations of pedophilia spoiling my day.

My wife and I are senior citizens and have travelled to over 100 countries, taking
hundreds of thousands of photos, including many of children. In Asia the parents
are invariably proud and happy to have their child photographed. Only in the
USA have we encountered hostile, paranoid parents obsessed with
fears of pedophilia.
Nonetheless, since I live in the USA (and now in the post Jerry Sandusky environment), I'd rather not take the chance of being carted off to jail for a misunderstanding. Too many subjects available in the world without inviting trouble from "paranoid" parents.
