I agree with the ID in #1. It's a Willet. #1 and #4 stands out, but I like #2, also.

A good set, Birdie.
I especially like the first image- with the lapping of the water and the tail wind ruffling the tail feathers .

p.2 #7 · Some Shore Birds

nice stuff birdie! you've stolen all my birds for the winter but i'm glad to see they are providing good photo ops. i guess they'll be back here in the northeast soon enough. the loose crop on the willet is great, i really like the wave rolling behind him.

dorian

Thanks Dorian. Oh how I wish I could keep them. I really enjoyed photographing them.

Great shots Birdie!! My fave is #1. I'll try at IDs. I do beleive 1 is a Willet, 2 is a Spotted Sandpiper, and 3 is a Ruddy Turnstone in winter plumage (I think).

Thank you Ashley for the comments and the IDs, much appreciated.

Very nice set, Birdie. Yep, 3 is a Ruddy Turnstone. The last one is a Pelican
Nice lighting in the second shot
Socrate

Thank you Socrate, much appreciated.

Beauts, Birdie. Love that first one. Send the shorebirds north some time soon please.

Tony

Thanks Tony ! Will send them north when you send me more hummers

Love the set Birdie with the 1st and last as my favorites

-Tim

Thank you Tim, very much !

Nice onces. Like the first and last best.

Jude, much appreciated.

Yep no. 3 is a Ruddy Turnstone, this one photographed near my house in Melbourne Australia.
When I observed the bird, I noticed it was limping, only when I got home and uploaded, I discovered three tags....
Tags seemed very tight, so I was concerned..
Managed to contact the people who tagged it, it was last tagged in King Island off South East Australia, and they reckoned that the tags were all fine and not too tight..........
Got to wonder though......

Your shot is wonderful. I have only seen hummers being banded. However the banner explained that the band should NEVER be on the upper part of the leg. Shore birds may be different.

very nice Roberta.. #1 and #4 for me also

Much appreciated Kenny !

Well done again Birdie. In 3, it looks like there is a baby gator approaching the burd... I love the pose in 1, and it's an extra nice shot. 4 is another pick - great detail in the head and beak - a great looking image ~ Ron

Thanks Ron ! Love what you see in the third

Good looking set Roberta. Willet is my pick of the set. Well done. Peli is nice too.

Ken, much appreciated, thank you!

Looks like I'll follow the crowd. #1 and 4 for me :-)

#3 looks like a ruddy turnstone.

Charles

I like your low pov in these. Nice work on them all, Birdie. But that pelican, why do they always make such a mess?

Wayne

Thanks Wayne ! Not sure I can answer your question
