Very nice Jim. Seeing nice images like this make me realize that I'm really going to have to work extra hard here in Austin Texas just to get a decent shot anywhere. There are good places here to shoot, you just have to be at the right place at the right time and know where to go. However I would love to go to the Grand Canyon and I know someday I probably will. Beautiful shots sir, a job well done!!

Hey Todd, thanks so much! I am glad you liked them. I do understand that the landscapes around you are a bit underwhelming, so I am glad I could inspire you a bit. Work the sun, make the most of unique rocks or fields.
As for the Grand Canyon, you ought to plan it. I would think it's just about a days drive for you? Maybe fly into Phoenix would be cheaper and then rent a car?

Nice set Jim. You worked the light and composition every well. The foreground tree and moon makes number 1 special but I like the color mix on the third as well.
I have never been to Moab. Looks amazing.
Best,
Fred
Thanks so much Fred. You definitely need to make it to Moab some time. The spring is great, I used to take my daughter on her spring break from school a bunch of times to go shoot. It was fun.
These are extraordinary, Jim. Wonderful light, especially the first 2.
My only nit is in the last. With the beautiful earth shadow indicating how late it is, the land feels a little bright to my eyes. Not much, now.
I wonder if there isn't a good shot available from somewhere along the 'road' visible in the 2nd.(?) I've driven that once, but don't recall what the view provides.
