Thanks for the rest of the comments everyone. I drove 7 hours to get my first great grey owl. When I arrived at the location, baiting was already taking place. I took advantage of the opportunity and captured some in flights. Now, maybe these purists here would walk the other way and hope that one flies up to you in -2 degrees in a huge field, but I seriously doubt they would get any shots. And I also seriously doubt any of these "purists" would walk the other way too having never got an IF of a GGO. A special thanks to Dorian and Jim Borden ( Hawky) for the info which helped make my trip happen. Plenty more horrible shots to come and GKOR, I'll try to find one with a mouse's neck fur more in focus and one with better eye contact too. If you don't like it, just use your mouse.
Herb-Glad the trip worked out well for you. I am going back! Gotta find a Boreal and another Northern Hawk Owl Looking forward to more horrible pics Herb!
Sir, I would have been very disappointed with any other type of reply, so thank you for taking the time to "respond".
I wish all the best to you and your dedicated following.
Regards.
Nice shot of the mouse!! Too bad the bird got in the picture, but I think it ads to the shot. Or is it the other way around! That's a good one. Perfect moment caught. Don
