WHAT How come I only hear about this now? Is that what REALLY happened, buddy Come on, you can tell us the truth. No one else will know. This interweb thing is really private!
Seriously, that just sucks. Hope you're on the mend quickly my friend.
Man oh man Tim thank you for this! I feel so stupid for the accident. Looking up at owls instead of down at all the dangerous logs!!!!!
To everyone: Please feel free to send me ALL your unedited RAW files so I'll have something to do while I'm laid up!!!!!!!
Don't feel bad my friend I took a header once looking up a Acorn Woodpecker and got my foot lodged under a rock,
held up camera and saved it without a scratch but landed on my chin and knocked myself out. Talk about feeling stupid I could see and hear
but couldn't move until I rebooted felt like Mike Tyson gave me an uppercut for days.
May I ask if other people were around to help you? Was cell phone coverage available in the area where you fell? How long did it take for responders to get to you? Sorry about the curiosity.
I think most everyone on this forum has went out searching for wildlife/nature/photos and could experience or has experienced something like this.
Best wishes on your continued recovery. I wish my home state would have been kinder to you.

I was talking to Conrad on Sunday and found out he broke his ankle/leg while out shooting
in Minnesota and will be out of the game for awhile. After the swelling goes down he will
require surgery and at least 6 weeks of recovery.
Conrad my friend get well soon.
Feel free to leave him a get well message to cheer him up.
-Thanks Tim
Physical Therapy baby my west coast friend. Fractured your distal fibula? 6-8 weeks rehab.
I'd almost say those fantastic owl shots you got were worth it! On the upside, at least you didn't damage any gear! Or did you?
I just recovered from a surgery, and I know it's super lame to be laid up. So I feel for ya! Hope you heal soon!
I wish I was caught up on my processing!
Conrad, sorry to hear the bad news, the average level of the N&W forum is going to sag a little while you are off your feet. Hope the healing goes well!
Mark
Bad news Conrad, hope all heals as fast as possible so you can get back out there. I do expect there will be some marathon posts from your vault to keep us entertained until you are back on your feet though.
Bay area Mercury news reports: "None of the raptors were seen in the clear skies of S.Bay area as they all declined to take to the skies following the injury to Mr Raptor-Magnet, Conrad Tan. They all are wishing him a speedy recovery and are awaiting his return to the field."
To everyone: Please feel free to send me ALL your unedited RAW files so I'll have something to do while I'm laid up!!!!!!! -- Thats a deal
Get well soon, Conrad! Maybe one of your shooting buddies can set up a temporary platform on the front of their vehicles like the one from the south african safari

Yikes Conrad. You are too valuable on this site for accidents. Usually broken legs in Northern Wisconsin are due to beer and snowmobiles...
Good luck & heal fast!
Thank you so much! Yeah the broken ankle is from looking up, instead of down, while walking around looking for owls
