Wiseguy are you still complaining about the lens even though you don't have it? I really don't get it, over 40 posts trying to trash a lens you don't own and it's not working, what's the point and what does it serve you? I have just sold my Zeiss 35 f/2 because simply the Sigma is on another level... This thread is for those who have the Sigma and happy about it and want to share their images, you can start yet another thread about the you-don't-own Sigma "trashy" bokeh... I believe Lars clearly and "measurably" have demonstrated that the bokeh of the Sigma is excellent and on par with the Zeisses, and he owns three of them

No, he didn't show any pictures. So he demonstrated nothing. Only talking about it. The pictures in threads like this show the real story. But obviously you have chosen not to look.

Yep, only sheerleading is allowed here. Serious discussions are hardly possible. People here get very aggressive when you have the nerve to discuss their latest purchase. They start talking about you instead of the subject you are tallking about. In fact it is worse than on DPR, because people there are very direct. But I couldn't care less.

I am not going to use naming as you clearly are. Serious discussions is when you are objective and respectful and not when you describe a whole thread with really amazing pictures as "ugly" and disrespecting all those who contributed to it. I couldn't care less about the lens itself. I don't go to the Canon forum and discuss their recent 35 1.4 LII purchase and trash it because it's simply called "trolling" and disrespectful, that's DPreview quality.

We all see things differently, and nobody is expecting everyone to say that every posted picture here is exceptional. But, stating that they're all "ugly" or anything similar is disrespectful and it speaks for itself, no comment necessary.
I am very hot to buy this lens to complete my kit (D700, 70-200 VR2, 24-120 F4, 85 F/1.8 G, SB-700), and I'm trying to find a reason not to spend $1000+ (Canada) at the moment, but it is hard. The lens just shines, nothing less than that, at least in my eyes.

Sorry for that word, i exagerated . Somehow the lens reminds me that only time when i used the circular polarizer on the 85 for portrait work, maibe thats the reason a user on a diferent forum stated that compared directly with the 35g , the sigma was darker at the same exposure.

You know what I find really amazing with Sigma and this lens. Even though I'm having problems with my outer focus points and so are some others, the center focus point is really amazing and accurate.

As well, I don't think I've heard of any copies that are at all soft at f1.4. They all look damn sharp with very sharp corners and little to no decentering issues. Pretty amazing if you ask me.

I can't understand why people behave so aggressive and offensive with out any reason, If you think the Sigma is weak in some areas present your points in a polite and respectful manner, and show us some of your great pictures with the Nikon, Zeiss or any lens you are using so we can compare.

I bought the Sigma after using the Nikon for one day, I think the Sigma is sharper at 1.4, fast AF and feel better on m y D600/D700.

I finally got my copy of this lens last night. Very nice and sharp wide open, just as advertised. I can see how some might pick nits in image quality compared to the 35/1.4 ZF.2, but that lens costs twice as much, is larger, heavier, and manual focus. I think Sigma is offering a tremendous value.

You guys are making my head spin. I can't afford to own two 35mm. I already own 35L for my 5DIII and I love it but after looking at all these wonderful pictures my D800 is getting seriously jealous.

Decision Decision Decision. I know I will eventually succumb. It is a question of either selling my 35L or keep it and add Sigma. Time shall tell.
