Doctor.. do you live in Yosemite and treat photographers?

Love all the photos you posted here. I feel the wind through the trees and fogs!

Thanks Kee,
Glad you like my photos. I live just over an hour from Yosemite. So I call it my backyard. It is great to be able to go there whenever I feel like.

It was gloomy and cold. But I thought I was there to take pictures. The light and the dense fog didn't allow any iconic view and comp, So I looked for some interesting features and still one can recognize Yosemite. Glad you like it.

Glad you were there, Bob.

Now, get that D800E you're craving so when the next big snow or ethereal fog rolls in you'll REALLY be ready! Then print big, BIG, BIG!

Chaz,
Just keep on rubbing it in and you may succeed. I am very close. My next big trip is approching very fast and I do need a "back up" cam. the D800/e would be the right one. It would have been the one to go with D3 to Kenya. But now as companion, it will have D4.

Hi Bob,

I like the cloudy foggy look very much and #2 is especially moody. Great set!

Bob - I remember when you had just received the D3 back in 2009 and you were wondering if you should rush up to Yosemite for your first shoot of Horsetail Fall. You arrived just in time with minutes to spare for a beautiful scene from the southside river location.

I didn't steer you wrong then, so take my advice now and order that D800E. Yep, I'm rubbing it in.

Well,It was my first time, so I didn't know what to expect except for the images I saw on papers or on the web. It will not be the last time."

Chaz,
Thanks for digging up the past. A lot has changed. 2006 was when I saw that the digital age was coming. Nikon didn't have what I wanted, so I went Canon with 1DII, mere 8MP camera, but it gave me many good keepers. D3 came and I was back to Nikon. D3 has been great. My last trip to Keya showed it. D3 got as many keepers as D4 if not more. But D4 is a good successor of it, So D3 was now in the good hands of the new owner. I am sure it continue to perform for him many years go come. Remember I didn't plan to buy D4, but the D800/e was no where to be found when I needed them?

I think in a place like Yosemite you would want clouds and fog. #2 and #3 are really well composed.

I think all of these photos are super. I like clouds and fog. To me, it shows the true weather of this great place. After all, we all go shoot from the same general spots, but it's the weather, clouds, sun-beams, etc, that make images stand out from the rest. Keep up the good work !!!!

My trip to Yosemite is scheduled for Feb 19-20. I guess I need to find out the best setup location for horsetail falls. All of my previous trips have been no camera hiking trips in the spring. I've headed directly for the back country to escape the mob of tourist in the valley, so I'm not even sure which of the valley falls is horsetail. This will be my D800E's first trip to the mountains instead of seacapes so we'll see how it likes the cold.
Regards
Paul
