p.1 #1 · Flare-riffic coastal car shot

I'm a people shooter, so please forgive my clumsiness. Rented a 20mm 2.8 for a trip up the coast, found it much too flare prone for my liking, but I enjoyed this one. Applied what I intended to be a mild HDR treatment in photoshop. C/C welcome as always.

Shooting cars in a scene against the sun can be challenging. Fill flash might have changed things for you in this shot. Shooting into the sun is difficult. Flare, ghosts etc. the shades help some but not when shooting directly into it.

Looks like shade might have helped here, CPL also for the glare.

Yeah, ordinarily I'd use an ND filter and a studio strobe in a situation like this, but I was on vacation and forbidden from bringing "all that stuff." Hence, I opted to stack bracketed exposures.

And my 85mm 1.4 doesn't flare anywhere nearly as bad as this (older design) 20mm did. OMG. Couldn't believe it. I even got flare and ghosting from light sources during night shots. Super annoying.
