Great owls - I would love to see them sometime - #2, #7, and #8 are my favorites.

Thank-you Jim! It is truly a great opportunity. I think this is the third irruption in this area since I moved here 17 years ago, two years in a row is incredible. My brother gets GHOs on the roof tops in his neighborhood in your neck of the woods.

Great series! It's so tough to get these guys on a natural perch, and you've managed that with awesome lighting as well. #2 is a killer shot!
Cheers,
Harry C
Thank-you Harry! It is a great area and all there happens to be in the area are natural perches, that is except for the owl we saw standing in the highway on the way!

Worth the wait. You guys keep coming up with these wonderful images. I like the last one; I think I've seen it before. But #2 is the real prize. Fine work. Don
Thanks Don, yes it all worked out for me, the day, the opportunities and the results. The last one was posted from Tim's view in his post.

One nice day in the great Pacific NW and you took advantage of it in spades. Gorgeous shots of spectacular birds and you finished off in some really sweet light. Beauties all!
Eric
Oh yes Eric, it was spectacular. One of those days when we make visitors sign a weather NDA so they won't go home and tell folks it is like this in December.

Awesome shots Doug, #2 is so cool. Sounds like you had a great day.
Rob
Thank-you Rob. #2 was a little of a surprise, you shoot a sequence and look later to see what you captured. This was my favorite of the whole sequence and yes it was a great day. I am plotting on how to do it again.

Wow, whatever conniving you had to do to get these was worth it -- I'd dearly love to have any of them. #2 and 8 are my personal favorites, but it's really quite a set.
Mark
Thanks Mark. Glad you liked them and thank-you for your picks.

Oh my Doug 2 is one that I would DIE for, wow
I forgot I almost hit one on highway That would have been priceless
You got some amazing shots here, no wonder you were chimping all the way home! I still haven't had time to look at all of mine yet!
All I can say is excellent work my friend. I can't wait to go out and do it again. We sure had a ton of fun
Tim
Thanks Tim. I think once Diane Feinstein finds out we can shoot owls at 12 frames a second with such precision and have variable size magazines for storing the shots we may all be in trouble. Were you really chimping during that flight sequence?
Thank goodness you missed that owl, that would have ruined the day.
