Cool, I'll play. This is one taken of my two boys and their friend using the OM-D & Oly 75 f/1.8.

How on earth do I just get the picture to show? Must be really stupid today!

Of course there are pictures that "can't" be taken in the same exact way with MFT as with FF or medium format or full format etc, there will always be differences. I am in agreement with your last 2 posts 100%.

The OM-D is a more capable camera than a lot of obnoxious FF shooters (not you, carstenw) give it credit for.

Well, the problem is that every once in a while when there is a great new camera on the market, someone gets a little carried away in making exuberant statements about it, and if this kind of disease runs unchecked in some isolationist thread like this, then people start repeating it so often to each other than soon it takes on its own new internet truth and starts spreading like the plague. Pretty soon we would be hearing statements in various forums to the effect that the OM-D has beaten all FF cameras in IQ based on some tests done by an expert, and FF is dead, and other such nonsense.

Better to add a dose of perspective before it is too late.

It is an amazing little camera, I fully agree with you. And a good OM-D (E-M5, really) shooter will always out-shoot an average FF shooter, but there are definitely shots possible with FF which are not with MFT. I would say that up to half of my personal favourite shots are in this category.

Anyway, due to cost (E-M5), mushy buttons (E-M5) and a removable VF (E-PL5), I will soon be upgrading my E-PL3 to an E-PL5, same sensor as the E-M5. I guess I will have to post in a different thread though

As the OP of this thread, I welcome contributions from all Oly shooters and especially those with bodies that share the same sensor as the OM-D.

Putting aside the sensor size talk there are some amazing images in here.

My personal favourites from the posters so far:

bobbytan: Image #4 in post #1 ... awesome capture of architecture.

snapsy: image #2 in post #2 .... very nice moody b&w image

jman13: image #1 & #5 in post #3 .... great bokeh and detail in the leaf shot (And nice framing) and just awesome light in the pic with the little girl.

rji2goleez: image #3 in post #4 ... awesome light and there is a certain "busy-ness" in the middle of the frame that is complimented with a simplicity in the top and bottom. I really like it.

wilbus: image #4 in post #6: Love everything about that shot.

dkimiles1: image #3 & #4 in post#3 on page 2 .... I love image #3. Creamy bokeh, great framing, the tone of colour in the image, the smile from the little girl... it all just works! the night shot is almost under-stated IMO and not overdone. It looks natural.

Heres one from The Durbin Rocket, in WV . It was backing up, putting the cars on a siding for the evening. The engine was then un-coupled and put to bed in a small train barn , just enough room for it and maybe a Mini Cooper ot Fiat 500. Tight crop on right hand side, was to remove a pickup truck and parts of a barn. OM-D with Limix 14-42 lens.

I know we're supposed to limit to six, but I have to add one more, mainly because it's probably my best OM-D image of the year, and I completely forgot it somehow. Three image stitch, handheld (love the IBIS), with the Oly 12/2:

Thanks Man! 'Preciate the feedback.

The night shot - apart from a slight WB adjustment, is straight out of camera - seriously - pany 20mm f/1.7 at f/1.7. The little girl is one of my personal favorites - Oly 45mm. I liked the lobster roll too, that photo will always remind me of Boston :-)

I won't be giving up my 5D3 or my 1Ds2 anytime soon, but I LOVE the OM-D!

Limit Six, eh Bobby? OK, here are two more.

The first is a model I shot a few months ago under continuous lighting, the second is my wife and me on our 10th anniversary to the day in the very place where we got married in 2002, in Santorini....

Just out of curiosity, what type of photos do you think are not capable on MFT that are on FF?

Ultra-shallow DOF and tilt-and-shift lenses come to mind.
