Gesh D, quite the variety! If you're looking for northern harriers, come up here. We have lots. . And of course the first beer is on me.

Man that's really tempting H... and the Northern Harriers sound good too.
Thanks

Another super set Kruk! The nice tight shot of the grebe belies their tiny stature, those are small birds The light for the shorebirds makes them sing, oh how I want to shoot in light like that !!!!! The BCNH seems to have an attitude problem Super techs on the GBH with a tasty snack. You handled the bright background quite well on that one, it looks great!
Really nice job Kirk
Tim
It was a fun couple of hours, always lots of willing subjects at BC... except for the Northern Harrier... I'll get her one of these days.
Thanks for the good words Tim. Looks like the weather hasn't been too good for you guys lately... but I'm sure your tutorials are MOST appreciated.

Excellent set, Kirk. That long-billed curlew definitely lives up to its name. I like the GBH best -- super nice quality of light and a flattering background.
Mark
Hey thanks for the very gracious words Mark, much appreciated.

Nice shots. Morning shots I assume? You feel confident going to Bolsa even with all the recent issues with people having their cars broken into? I have never been there but keep meaning to go. I am waiting to get my new to me 1D mark iv this morning. I am sitting watching out the window for the Fedex truck. I planned to go to a new place today and this weekend. May go out to Bonelli Park or to Topanga state park. Last time I was there I got an ok pick of a Red Shoulder hawk. I want to get better shots though.

Great looking set, Kirk.
I like them all for the poses and the nice light you always seem to shoot in. Great job.
Chris
Thanks a lot Chris. The poses here are the best of the shoot IMHO, I'm trying to post just the best image of each bird nowadays. And I almost always shoot in the first or last two hours of the day.

Do you know what I like Kirk? The ability to take a most common subject i.e. a GBH and make a standout image of it! Fantastic I say
Long billed bird with tiny little fishy..................
Accolades to the others for the wonderful light, color and depth, all nicely presented from beginning to end!
Karl
I was actually shooting a Dowitcher when I noticed the GBH feeding at the flood gate. He was catching one after another, and the light was beautiful so I decided to take advantage of the opportunity. I'm pleased with the result and glad you like it too. The Curlew shot is getting the most attention, it's so interesting to watch them forage for their food... that bill goes all the way down to find those little guys.
Thoughtful comments are always appreciated my friend... but... I'm not hearing any nits or crits lately and I don't want you to be shy about that... I count on you nudging me to be better.
