Hope you feel better soon.
That flower is a very interesting sort in that it is known to primarily feed on sunflower seeds.
A near cannibal.
Thanks skibum5. Indeed, they seem as voracious as Venus Fly Traps. I think Jefferson refers to them as tree sharks, though I seem them as often on the ground. Here's one in its blue phase.
Thanks to all for your contributions, good variety. There is no hint of snow around here as yet, but the quality of light gives a little hint of the season, I think. I finally was able to get out with a camera this afternoon, and encountered some horses in challenging light. I had expected to find a decent landscape for a nice sunset, but that was a total bust, so I went with what I had. Fortunately, instead of only bringing the 24 TS-E, I also packed the 70-200 and 15 fisheye. Those are what I ended up using. This is the first time in many years that I've been this close to horses. Just a city boy!

Maybe we should have a Canon summer photography post for the other half of the world??
Its 34 and 65% here so no snow to be seen for 6000km...
That's why I said shots from last winter would be welcomed. We could do a summer thread, and Northern Hemispherians could post stuff from our past summer...
