One of my favs from this year was taken the other night. My kids, not fighting. This is a rare moment of my son not instigating his sister and his sister showing him some affection which is very very rare.
Sorry, but I greatly enjoy shooting people that are vague and obscured. I guess this appeals to my minimalist style, so it's my favorite for this year. This is a member of the burn crew heading into the smoke.
Here's my favourite from 2012. Just fooling around with some silly ideas with my daughter. Don't panic, she really wasn't washed in the washing machine. I put her in there right after her bath.
Lot's of great participation - thanks to everyone for contributing. It's fun seeing what images have been selected.
When you go through the process of choosing a single favorite, it just might remind you or teach you a little something about why you shoot.
Of course many on here shoot to make a living, but it appears these folks are generally selecting personal photos as their 'best.' Sometimes the things that photogs can obsess on, like rule of thirds, super sharp focus, perfect composition, perfect exposure, etc. go right out the window when they choose a photo that they call their best.
A few days left in 2012, but there are more than a few from People forum who haven't posted up...
Ok, haven't posted any images on FM before this, but here's my fav from 2012...it was from a senior shoot in Sandbridge, Virginia. I've ended up using this one in some of my marketing materials, etc.
A gal at work wanted a couple of Senior pictures of her oldest son. He did not want to do it, and we only had 15 minutes to do them in. This is one of the ones his mom liked the most. When it was all over, he said it wasn't that bad.
Great posts by all! Lets make the Best of 2013 even better!!
For me it's hard to decide, I am sure everyone would be in a similar boat
So I guess I will choose this one since I only took it just before Xmas and still have a deep impresion in my memory
I have been a member for a while and enjoy the incredible talent on the FM forums. Here are a couple of my favorites from 2012. Also my favorite model, my grandaughter Leila. all w my 50mm f/1.4 I got this year.
Some great photos in this thread! This shot is obviously not what it seems, he is a "Gueux" at the Medieval Market in Chateauneuf-en-Auxois in Burgundy. The Gueux are/were the lowest form of life in medieval villages!
