Ron, thanks for taking the time to explain how you are approaching trying to get into the "inner circle", I know it's a tough road sometimes, I've been trying for the past 3-4 years to break into that circle with my Nina's dance group.
Sometimes it's been one step forward, then two steps back. On the way at least I've been able to capture Nina as she matures in her dance
These shots were all shot in the vicinity of ISO 1250/1600, 1/400 or 1/500, f/4.5. Really nice up-bright stage ligthting for these shots, allowed me a fast shutter speed and still some DOF.
I'd give just about anything for light like this. It enables you to get so much more detail and consistency across the frame.
I was going to post some of my Nutcracker pix, but I'm thinking otherwise now. These are just too good.
These pictures are fabulous. I was going to post some of my own Nutcracker pictures. Now I am not so sure....lol.
The costumes are wonderful, and it appears that the lighting is a good deal better than most dance venues. You used both to great advantage. Well-done!

Good luck, you do NICE WORK
Bob
Thanks, Bob. I've always enjoyed your pictures of Nina as well. Trust me, lots of steps forward, lots of steps backward. But the steps back get smaller and smaller, and the steps forward just get bigger.
Uzay and Zelaya and Ed, thanks much! Glad the background was interesting, Ed. I don't normally write much... don't really think about whether it'd be interesting or not.

No way, Steve. Gotta see your shots! You always do such nice work, even in less desirable light. It's not very often I get light like this. Even when I shot for the Houston Ballet, there were only a couple times that I got light this bright.

Thanks, Dave! But please do post your pics. I really like seeing the variety of shots that we get, and like I said to Steve, not everyone gets the light like I got here.
