Here are a couple images from a pre-dawn visit to Weehawken, NJ this past Saturday. About 30 minutes before sunrise, I was treated to an amazing glow behind the skyline.
Good series, Mark. It looks like you were treated with a pretty nice sunrise. Although I like both images, I favor #2 a bit more since I like wide angle perspective. Nicely done.
Getting up early is always a struggle, because you never know what to expect -- it could be a bust, or it could be like it was last Saturday.
These were taken a bit further north of Liberty State Park, at Solders and Sailers Monument in Weehawken. Here's a link to Google Maps street view, so you can see the location. It is actually a good bit higher in altitude than Liberty State Park, which is down close to the water. I see you are over on Staten Island. I hope you made it through Sandy without too much trouble...
