For nikon the 60 G macro is inexpensive and a no brainer for the 1 shot per day you'll need it. Pick one up pre-owned.

Exactly. Nikon 60G Macro is superb on both macro shots and even portraits. It focus super fast on portraits and the result is also stunning.

The sigma 70mm 2.8 macro is also an amazing value.

(I use the 150mm sigma)

I've got the Sigma 150mm macro. Love it, though there are times I wish I had the 60mm
