Tho only thing I could suggest is try shooting it with a macro lens, focusing on the more interesting parts of the branch but of course this will create additional challenges. An abstract, in my mind, should not give me a definite form or shape I can relate to, it should let my mind play with the image and come with answers of it's own... this image you posted is definitely an image of a piece of wood, so my mind sees it and thinks "piece of wood", instead of wondering "what is this abstract about?". Perhaps a tighter shot from some detail? I don't really have an answer; I tried to take some part of the image and make it as abstract as I could just to illustrate what I mean: (I can actually see a red fox resting over a fallen/cut tree in this image... go figure, perhaps I forgot to take my medicine today ) Dec 19, 2012 at 02:07 AM
