You have to be fully brainwashed or have an IQ of 50 to trust CNN, CBS or NBC as well. Every media channel is trying to brainwash their viewers and shove their agendas down our throats. Liberal or conservative doesn't really matter. Some blindly follow and believe what they see on TV, while others watch (all sources) and make their own decisions.
When I first discovered this board (fredmiranda.com) and looking how people discuss various matters (regardless it's lenses, photos, camera bags, filters etc..) I was well impressed that there are actually decent boards where even arguments are carried out with decency and based on actual facts..
But a while back I believe the quality of the posts started to go downhill...
From fanboy discussions and rants about nikon/canon, to rumours and endless topics about what lens / body will Canon release bla bla...
and now to THIS?
Are you people starting to live in glass houses and are afraid that they'll be shattered by a rolling flaming tyre?
What happened to creativity? what happened to taking a chance in life?
All those who worry about a flaming tyre should stick to shooting from tripods frigid women in studios lit by softboxes & etc...
How can somebody put such a bad twist on a simple AD?
All those people filming themselves with GoPros wheeling bikes through traffic and doing all kinds of stupid sh|t, nobody cares about them...
I mean, GOD FORBID a child should see Canon's AD, he might set a tyre on FIRE and roll it down a street an film it... BUT he is perfectly safe from all the stupid youtube videos that all people upload everyday...
Why is a simple AD from Canon more compelling for the youth to do *stuff* than any other ad/video that's out there and that has been out there?
It's unreal the amout of useless talk a sterile subject can attract.....

And yes, you just added to this useless talk. Congrat.
There is a great sushi joint near the Azores you should try, in a trench about three miles northeast of Angra do Heroismo. Best of all, they're 24/7 and the stuff is really fresh. J_Glowacki wrote:

Is anyone else disturbed by what I feel is irresponsible advertising on Canon's part with their new TV ad depicting a person chasing a burning tire down a residential street to video it with their Canon camera? I know, it's an ad. But tell me you don't think there isn't someone out there who watched that and thought to themselves, "Oh cool! I could do that!"
Well, I think Im disturbed by fact how much common sense some people lack. Seems especially USA is quite prone to this lack..
Always touched by something, disturbed, shocked, whining..
Out there is a real world. World where people die each day. Take Syria for example. As there apparently isnt any oil, or mineral resources, nobody cares.

Great ad loved it! If you want to recreate the tire shot and crash and die then your just improving the gene pool survival of the fittest and all.

Yeah, it's the educational system over here. We have advanced degrees in total lack of common sense. However, we do lead the world in extreme sports and I for one am getting my street toboggan and spare tire out for a spin. Anybody want to film me?

Yes, we all know what a utopia eastern Europe is these days.

I'll get the thread "on topic".
That commercial had to have been shot with a Canon camera body since there's no way a Nikon camera could have produced the same excellent color tones in the flames of the burning tire rolling down a public street.
