Actually, Nikon has called the sales figures of FX bodies disappointing. I'm sure this is designed to entice more DX shooters to go FX and of course the new lenses that will be needed which is where they really make their money.
If you consider the retail price of the lens being $600, here is the $1,400 price tag on the body that everyone was hoping for before it was announced!! It's a shame it is ending tomorrow... this is VERY tempting. Sell the lens and the extras, and have an ~$1,400 D600.
Lesson learned--never jump on something the minute it comes out.
