so if the kit buyers drive the price of the 24-85 down to 400-425, that makes the body 1600 or so...pretty good deal. these have come down quickly!

The 24-85 is already around 400.. so more likely 300-350s. I dont think the market for those lenses is big.

So, one could get a brand new d600 for about $1625...oh boy we will start seeing bunch of "BNIB 24-85 VR" next week!

got an email from my local B&M store. the rumors are indeed true, the prices will be effective starting this friday for this particular store. for those wondering, both the d800 and d800e have the discount.
