My Epson 3880 front tray ( the one that the print rests on during printing)
was knocked and I had to remove as it was skewed
it doesn't look damaged but I cant figure out how to get it back in..
any ideas?

You probably were stuck thinking it has to go in this way and it didn't. If you had walked away and the tried again later it probably would have gone strait in. At least you husband feels useful now that he came to the rescue of his mate.
