Cracked me up when some FM members here said what they used, I tested one and it fit perfectly. Been using them for about 2 years, maybe 3. Sure can't beat the price and they take up almost no room at all. Super fast to put on and take off, and I have plenty of spares!
The front lens element (just a protector actually) is recessed nicely back in there. I find it pretty hard to scratch unless I begin to throw the lens around all over the place. That plastic lid is just mainly a dust deterrent but it's rigid enough to take a blow from the front and not give in. There's a pretty good space behind it.
