:-) just thought about the TC instead of a 70-300 and checked your link 5 hours ago.
The 70-300 L is slighly better at 300, but not as gorgeous from 70-200.

I haven't used my 70 300L yet for wildlife but for action shots it has taken my pics to a whole new level. I was previously using the 70 200 IS II. That extra 100mm makes a tremendous difference. Mine focuses fast and is dead on with almost every shot, all in Servo. If is misses, it is me, not it or the 5DIII. I fully expect it to do well with birds or whatever I point it at. It is a fantastic lens if you can swing it. I have seen pics by Imagemaster with it and I think a Kenko 1.4, which I am going to add eventually to use with it for birds. (No, I don't expect my bird pics to look like his ). I also haven't tryed the lens yet on my 7D so not able to say how it functions with other cameras than the 5D III.
