Are you referring to the rose shot? Make sure you look at the full res file. The flower petal is very sharp, but there is definitely a shallow DOF as one would expect from a long lens.
Quite a lens quiver you've got there! Shoot between the raindrops!

I was called this morning by the local pro shop - they are holding one for me until tomorrow afternoon. I certainly plan on comparing it to my:
70-200/2.8 VR II
80-200/2.8 AFS
70-300 VR
and
200/4 AIS
Mostly at 200mm. I may have to wait three months for a relatively clear/rain-free day here in Seattle though . . . .

Just out of curiosity, why do you have so many lenses in that range?
Very good question. The story goes something like:
- Had a 80-200D, but it did not focus well on my D80. Got a screaming deal on a 80-200AFS, sold the D.
- My company needed a 70-200VRII to take some images for a client from a rocking boat and the 80-200AFS would not do..
- Have had the 70-300VR for quite a while, but hardly ever use it these days now that I'm shooting FX.
So the 70-300VR, 80-200AFS, and perhaps the 200/4 AIS need to go. Yes too many.
I'm not afraid to buy lenses to see if they fit with what I do and then either keep them and sell something else, or sell that lens if it doesn't work out.
I'm currently n the stage of needed to thin the herd . . .

1249 euro already in The Netherlands..... that was quick, but still lots for a f4 lens....
Actually thats not bad - do you have a link for that?. First one on ebay here in the UK is £1,300! Very hard to go for the F4 past the F2.8 at that money. But the F4 is one for me.
