Yes the Sigma won in his test. And the 35L came last

Don't forget all Canon lenses plus converter have DLO (digital lens optimizer) support but 3rd party lenses doesn't. So after DLO, above 35mm sharpness comparison can be in question here?

But all lenses including 3rd party lenses have the lens profiles for optimizing the lens in Photoshop or Lightroom. And it's not really the sharpness it will improve either.

More tests and portrait pics from the sigma 35/1,4 on Diglloyds website today. This is what he say;

"How well does the Sigma 35/1.4 DG HSM perform for close-range portraits after fine focus adjustment has been calibrated?

On the Nikon D800E.

Impressively well.

For close-range portraiture, I doubt there is a better 35mm lens out there today.

The Nikon D800E uses a 36-megapixel sensor. What is intriguing to me is that some lenses (like the Sigma 35/1.4) show a persuasive sharpness suggesting that a 72 megapixel sensor would have immedate and stunning benefits"

My version of DPP (3.11.26.0) offers DLO only for a subset of Canon lenses.

Bought mine a few weeks back, and have been extremely pleased and impressed so far. It really hasn't come off the camera, as I've been having so much fun playing with it, and finding all sorts of things to shoot with it - mostly wide open because I just love that sharpness and bokeh.

Yes, quite limited from my brief time using DPP.

i just got 30 more lenses plus converters updates

Yes you are right. Not all Canon lenses. And only for one out of Canons three 35mm lenses. I would also belive a lot more people like to use the lens profile corrections in PS or LR. Those software are used by most people here. And they also have corrections for a lot more lenses
