I love it Simon. And funny how on the Nikon board there was a very competent photographer complaining how he would never buy or use a 14-24mm for landscapes. One of my go to lenses! That's the problem with the internet, people feed on misconceptions!
As far as snow, total luck of the draw. In southern Utah when it does snow it may only last a couple days before it melts off, then not snow again for a month...
