At low tide, the mud flats (glacial silt) go on for miles.
Looking toward Cook Inlet- a large bay with a relatively narrow channel connecting it with the open Pacific Ocean.
I really like this perspective. Looks like you were high in the sky for this photo. The light is just spectacular the way its spotted throughout the frame. Thanks for sharing

I was on a bluff maybe 2-300 feet above the water. As I recall, I used a 70-210 zoom for this, and that may give the impression of height.

Great picture and one of my favorite places to drive. Nice capture of Fire Island also before the windmill's that are now all over the island. That is a keeper to remember when...

I haven't been back for about 15 years, and didn't know about the windmills.
I'm not sure how I feel about that as a photographer- but I'm sure glad I did some shooting when all that was out there was the perfect beauty and wonder of nature.
