Man, you guys get some great light down there. Add some talent and voila, you get shots like these. #1 is a stunner for sure, D. Wow!

I special order the light every morning before I go out H. Just let me know when you'll be here and I'll make sure it's all good buddy.
Many thanks for the good words my friend.

Such a lovely canvas to put your subject on in #1 Kirk, darn sweeeeeet buddy
#2 you got me wondering, did you enhance the softness of the back Mergie or was it out of camera with that little of DOF as it appears to my eyes a bit strange looking. However, super duper fine exposure, great color and a nicely dappled blue sky
Karl
Thanks for the good words Karl, always appreciated.
#1 was a nice surprise... as I was shooting the Willet flyby, the BG you see was just a split second and I was fortunate that it coincided with a nice wing position... I'll take it.
No enhancement to softness on the back Mergie, just the shallow DOF. It looks a bit odd to me too, normally I won't post any overlapping birds but this was the best of the Mergie pair and I really wanted to share one of the images.
Super work Kruk! Willets are a favorite of mine, to see this one against that orange bg is just too good While I do like the Mergies, the second may be a bit too much OOF for my taste Still I would have taken the shot and prayed

Excellent shots Kirk.
Isn't that 300mm with 1.4TC a great combo
I use it all the time.
Cheers
Saba
Thanks for the very kind words Saba. Yes, this combo is very versatile for both static shots and IF's... although I still look forward to the day when I'm able to get a 500mm.

Nice job Kirk
Tim
Hey buddy, thanks a million... I was so pleased to get the Willet against that BG in that golden hour light. I agree on the Mergies... I almost didn't post it for the OOF trailing bird, and also because I don't really care for overlapping birds either... but they're not here for long and I was stoked I got a pretty decent shot of this pair.
