If anyone thinks that Canon is not actively working on developing better sensors now (and has been for some time), let them speak up so that we can laugh at them.
Although didn't pixel perfect actually sort of say this in regard to their in house DR potential patent.
And eosfun said something about they wanting to milk the old sensor line more and didn't want to make new stuff for the 5D3.

+1, most of them did not pass banding test..a decade of stucking DR...seem like someone forgot about million low iso shadows noisy threads...it's not just happen in 2012 ...do some google search... lol...Monito, you are just another canon trolling monitor...
How soon people forget. Actually, For most of the past decade, Canon has been the leader in DR and image quality. It still has excellent image quality even if in the last two years or so Nikon has better DR.

You are out of facts, so you have yet again resorted to some kind of personal attack.
Just stop your attempted insults now, before you make it worse.
If you can't discuss the facts or the issues without making bizarre personal attacks, then please find another forum, like maybe DPReview.

Canon has consistently been bested in DR since the 2007 or so when Nikon introduced the D3. Lead by nikon has widened as of late.
I'd say Nikon pulled pretty even by 07/08 and has been pulling ahead as of late where image quality is concerned. You'd have to think canon responds relatively soon.
