As is the case with Sigma, they have several different versions of the 50-150 lens. Other than each one being newer than the previous, what are the differences between each of these? I know the newest one turns the opposite direction as most Nikon lenses. What about the Sigma 50-150mm F2.8 EX DC APO HSM II? I'm interested to know about AF speed and sharpness. Thanks.
I found the HSM II to be an excellent lens. AF was fast, and the lens was sharp at every length with wonderful contrast. I only sold it when I was moving to FX.
I had the first version of this lens and highly regret selling it a couple years ago. It was an incredibly sharp lens and lightweight. I haven't had the chance to use version 2, but i do know the new one is heavier.
Not sure about optics but I've read the major difference is new one is almost as big as a 70-200 but has OS...old one is real small and compact in comparison but lacks the OS
