First quick test with the subject lens.
Have to do more.
Dunno why I have keep buying soft focus "solutions", must have easy over a dozen different types...
Cool. I had a SMC Pentax 85/2.2 Soft that provided good results, but I rarely used it.
This thread reminded me that I had been considering a M645 Mamiya-Sekor C 145/4 SF, and so I just had a look on eBay. There's one there right now for a very reasonable price, plus a few at unreasonable prices, of course. For a few seconds there, I thought I would pull the trigger, and label you as a bad influence. Luckily, clear head prevailed, and I won't do it. Maybe I'm the one who will be a bad influence...
Oh you NEED to have one of the SF Mamiyas, EVERYONE NEEDS one!
I have one of those also, I like it.
Please be careful, some people think they are worth waaay tooo much.
Though, you've been in this game for quite a while, and have much experience, so, I'm certain you will do well.
I shot a crazy amount of photos this AM with the Tamron, the bokeh isn't that great too me.
I LOVE Magic Lantern and 9 shot brackets!
It will be a while, but I will post some more.
You have been forewarned...
Perhaps some day, some year, I will gather all my SF options together and have a comparison.
It actually would help me remember the different renderings.

Yes, the bokeh in your images looks a bit like spherical abberation is over-corrected.
How is the foreground bokeh? I suppose it is smoother with your lens.
The other lens samples looks a bit smoother in the background.
