I'm thinking the 6D launch will serve to hold the price of the 5d3. It gives the buyer a choice for lower price or more features. It will be interesting to watch and see what happens.

I wouldn't touch that one with a 10 foot pole. Picture shows 24-105 kits, title says body only, warranty 'starts at' 299.00, from an unknown retailer.
I'm telling you - read the links I posted here about MAP - then do what Henry says.
Like their radio ads say - Ya gotta go to B&H!
I wouldn't either. What I find intriguing is how could they make any money on this camera once they are done paying eBay, Paypal and shipping fees? Not to forget the risk they have taken by shelling out 30 times "X = whatever they paid per unit."
Do amazon price match to east coast tv? Bc I don't want to pay sale tax to best buy and I definitely get warranrty from manufactor if I buy it from amazon
I went to two Best Buys and they did NOT honor their price match guaranty that they claim to have, even though East Coast TVs is one of the places that Best Buy supposedly promises to price match against!!!

When I worked at BBY we only price matched local businesses. Never online sellers and not Sam's Club or CostCo.
Apparently that is not the case now and they claim that this episode of price match will run into late January. But what's the use when they don't honor it.
Got a quote from BH... they sent me the price on the website. Hopefully, they were just busy and overlooked it. I sent it to Henry P. to see if he could help me out.
Called B&H this morning and I guess Canon's heavy hand is being applied. I said I did not want the Lowepro bag etc., mentioned that Henry P had suggested calling, but the answer was that the selling price was $xxx, the same as the website figure. I am going to wait and see where the dust settles.
Buydig has a good price with the kit 24-105 that would get the end price down if you can sell the lens but I really don't want the hassle. I will if I have to but I will make my MkII and 7d do for the moment and see how things develop.
Avoid the gimmicks and questionable dealers. Take a look at these recent threads on Canon's MAP, and the responses from Henry at B&H. Then do what he says, and call or email them. You probably won't get a $2800 price, but you won't be too far from it. And if you don't live in NY, you won't pay sales tax. And you'll be buying a Canon USA warranty product from a well respected and certainly authorized Canon dealer. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1162637/1https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1162344 Thank you Henry and B&H...
