No worries pal, I'd be rubbing too. I'm kicking myself because I had one very early on and it back focused very bad. I should have sent it to Sigma instead of getting on the list for another.
I've tried Sigma lenses in the past, and always ended up with Nikon. Is this thing really not your ordinary Sigma? Wonder what it'll do to Samyang pricing...

can you buy the USB adapter to adjust the focus by yourself?

Well, mine's been glued to my D800 for 2 weeks and I haven't missed a shot yet. The Sigma AF is for real
FWIW all my f1.8G's have been perfect in that regard as well. Might consider reviewing the settings on your E.

Yeah, I ran all my AF lenses through FoCal. But auto-focusing wide open remains not too reliable...
There's your problem....AF-C, rear button AF. Unless you're in a museum shootin' a dead guy onna wall...
EVERYTHING moves. Select 9 pt and pick your single (the whole cluster moves around) The AF doesn't
work as hard, really speeds things up. Great for sports/BIF/bands in caves...hell, pretty much everything.
This is really getting OT...shoot me a PM if you need clarification, add'l info.

According to B&H, these will be more readily available for Nikon next week. That's what I was told when I called. Supposedly the Sigma rep was there at the time.

Who Dude just posts so you'll hit his blog. Not impressed.
Who? The guy who took the time to put a review together since I had the Nikon version before a lot of others, and posted a ton of sample pics for those who asked for them. The guy who answered alot of questions from those on the FM forums. Yes, the review was posted on my blog, where else would you have liked me to post it? Sorry you weren't impressed.
Hey Dan, yeah Ben and I grew up together and got into photography together. He was home in Jersey over the holidays and we got out shooting for the Geminid Meteor shower, along with our other friend Jack Fusco. Mine and Jack's shots got picked for the Nat Geo gallery, pretty cool, but it was fun to poke at Ben that he was the one of us that didnt get his shot picked. He just won the Land Rover contest which was pretty big for him. He lives an outdoor photographers dream life out in Portland, if I wasn't married I would be out there with him

Well, I found it helpful. Maybe Monkeyboy wasn't impressed because you didn't comment in appreciation of his masterful skills. Don't let it bother you though. He tends to make smart assed remarks to a lot of people on this site for no reason.
Hey, that's just how I see it! No hatin' on the messenger!
There have been some questions surfacing about the length of warranty. In the box
is a 1 yr International, and so far only Adorama states a 3 yr US extension. Well, I
JUST heard back from Sigma USA... The constant aperture lenses will still carry a 4 year warranty. For those who care, Yay!
