I know on the D3s in the HS I shoot at F3.5 and at 1000SS I would probably be close to that ISO as well. Thank goodness for 2.8 lenses. The difference with those extra stops to me, is invaluable.
I really like #3 and might have cropped it a tad tighter on the left side and eliminate the defender in red. Looks like some tough backgrounds regardless of angle as well. any others from the game?
It seems from me on the D3S, I have o be between ISO 5000 and 10000 to get close to 1/640-1/1000 SS...I was wondering if my camera was off becuase my buddy that shoots canon is always way below I am on the ISO...not sure if its a Nikon thing or not...and I am at what I consider pretty well lit stadiums
Since this was my first FB game with the camera, I decided to shoot at 20000 without flash and see what it could do. I wanted to see how the noise would be that high.
This was not our home field and the lighting was not what I am used to.
I will lower my ISO tomorrow night and see how I like it.
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Guys, am I missing something? That's ISO20000. As in Twenty thousand?!?! 20k!!! Doesn't matter how it's spelled it's still damn high ISO. And, IMO, the images are incredibly clean!! I'm still shooting 1d Mk2n and Mk2 bodies and I'd take images that clean at ISO3200!!! Seriously, with all due respect, I don't get it.
My initial reaction was, if I was getting images this clean at ISO20000, I'd have probably dropped the shutter speed to 1/800 or even 640 and shot at f4 to give myself a little more DOF.
Anyway, this isn't a gear forum so I'll toss in my take on the images. They all seem to have a slight greenish tint to them. WB could probably benefit from some adjustment.
#1 - This is one of those images we'd LOVE to keep, for for me it's a delete. Nothing but backs.
#2 - Nothing wrong with this one.
#3 - Nothing really wrong with it, but I'd crop it tighter, especially to get rid of the small portion of the guy on the left out of the image. He really adds nothing to the image.
