This is the kind of 3D effects i like to take from a clean sensor and sharp lens. Smooth transition from shadows to highlights make you feel like you are there at the scene. Very nice sample, Anders

any more sample like this one?

That's great, and points out how our visual perception works. Naturally, our vision darts its focus from subject to subject and/or details of the subject we are seeking or find significant, simultaneously locating it in space and momentarily marginalizing the rest in our field of view.

Since the background in this image is blurred and well separated from the subject, the subject has been purposely preselected and the surroundings have been pre-marginalized by the photographer. I think you will find it difficult to hold everything in a scene in focus at once, even if the whole scene is sharply in focus,

Jerry, I just learned that expression usage a few months ago on this very forum. I haven't got a clue who started it, perhaps our resident 3D experts SKumar or Dan GM might know that.

I would guess many of these terms are carried across from English. There is a presence panel in Lightroom.

Their definition, presence = vibrance + clarity + saturation?

Jim, it ain't bad at all, although I have not done as much of Servo AF tests yet as I would have wanted, however, AF is generally quite accurate with good precision. There are a couple of small nagging issues, but they are not deal breakers.
The X factor is allowing me to shoot in much lower light than ever before, while retaining requisite quality. In fact, I feel the IQ integrity retention with increasing ISO is enough of a reason in itself to get 1DX.
Then there is excellent camera agility and speed.......not much of a fast action can escape 12

Hi guys. Here is one of my more 3D shots! (5D3 35L @ f2)

I have found out that for 3D its best to use a lens less than 50mm on full frame and an f stop of f2 or numerically smaller.

Its also best to have people in the frame and the point of focus be tack sharp.

And guys, if its too telephoto or macro it wont have that 3D look. The 3D look is more characteristic of the larger formats when you can get a wide angle of view but still get shallow enough DOF for your subject to pop but you can still see quite a bit of context. Use too long a lens (or a small sensor or a small f stop (numerically higher) ) and you loose that.
