They might both be for sale once I test my D800 with the ZF.2 35/1.4 But yes, the 35 Lux-R is a fantastic lens, very moody, and centrally very sharp even wide open. My main issue with it is that all my other most used lenses are ZF.2, and the Lux, like many Leicas, focuses a little stiff, has no EXIF, and has focusing the opposite direction to Nikon. Oh, and stop-down metering. For someone who uses other Leicas regularly it would be a great addition.

Focus direction, well that has much to do with Nikon copying Zeiss Ikon and Canon copying Leica. So, for Nikon users it is easier to use Zeiss lenses and for Canon users to use Leica lenses.

Rich
well the new zeiss lenses for canon and the old c/y lenses focus the same direction as canon. it's really just nikon and pentax that insist on being difficult.

I forgot that the new Zeiss lenses made in the new mounts focus in the same direction as the camera makers.

Thank you, I am aware of that, but when they are visible I find it a bit distracting. Highlights and light sources can be an issue.

Actually, that is the main reason I sell my collection of ZF. I was think about switch to C but decide to stay with N with Leica R lens. So far so good.
It may not a concern for some users, but definitely for me. I have both M system and ZF.2. and I found I need them to be consistent to make every shot possible. Yes, that 100th of sec make difference to me. I really enjoy focus by eyes and snap as quick as I see something interesting. I have been missing shot either use M or ZF depend on how often I use the other system.

The Leica focus is feel more damped similar to Leica M, which feel good but not as fast once needed. I hope you can hold your 35lux longer,(I am serious interested in the lens) as I have 80lux on my priority list and 35 is the next. I might need some time to be able to get 35lux after 80lux
It is currently adapted for Nikon... but I also have the Leica mount, which can be reattached. Anyway, it will be some weeks before I decide, I need to compare the two first.
