XsigmaSD - thanks a lot for your great input. I used mine the other evening and again found it gave quite a cold colour balance even against the Contax N 24-85 lens I was it comparing it with (ie both Zeiss, so I expected less difference than say a Canon lens). I do like the background separation and in fact of the small number of shots I've used the lens for, I would say most give me satisfaction. I haven't noticed flare, but then I haven't taken shots with that problem! The built-in hood is very handy.

Topcors, who made these? Cosina?
understandable guess since cv copied topcon's aesthetic style and even bought the name (if I remember correctly?) for their homage to the topcon 58/1.4.

Yep, Voigtlaender 58mm f1.4 is almost same as Topcon 58mm f1.4, they re-made them later. Actually saw Cosina Topcon some time ago on one SH shop.
Considering price of original Topcons, they are either collectors value or really good lens.
I did sell mine to a FM member in Canada. The 100 seemed quite good and the 200 seemed only fair. Somewhere, i found a test of each, and my results agreed pretty much like the test results.

How do you mount that bullet casing on the NEX? How did you get that photo so sharp without a lens on the NEX (since the rest of the kit is in the photo)?
