I have had this waterfall on my bucket list for quite a while and finally after what seemed like driving forever I made it to this beautiful sight. I really dislike shooting in the rain, but the mood it can provide sometimes is worth the effort.
C&C welcome and thank you for having a look at my work
Very nice photo. You picked the timing perfectly for the mood. The rain certainly adds to it and you slow exposuer on the falls is really nice.
Would you care to share how you made the exposure and protected your equipment from the elements?
Best wishes.

It's a "wipe, Shoot, Cover and re-compose" type of thing. Living and shooting landscape in Oregon, one has to deal with the rain a lot. I really dislike shooting in the rain but it certainly provides a nice element to the final piece if one is willing to deal with it. After such an outing, the gear is all taken out of the bag, lens caps off, wiped down and aloud to dry before putting it away for the next outing

Ernie, I don't like too long of an exposure on moving water either when the result looks like spilt milk, but an exposure that gives what I refer to as "horse hair" texture, now this is heavenly to me regarding water shots, as I dislike "stopping" the water as with a fast shutter because it looks very un-natural to me. Thanks for the visit

Where do you see "white nothingness" in this one? I think he got the shutter speed just right. Plenty of texture, but slow enough to give some dynamism.
My only nit would be the logs bunched up against the right margin. I think I'd like to see either more or less of them. They're attracting a lot of attention to the right edge of the frame. Otherwise a lovely photo. Really nice misty atmosphere and great color.
Too bad you did not get to see some light on the moss rocks but nevertheless it looks like the soft light of rainy skies did great for this falls. Lovely shot.

I probably should have omitted the word "usually"; I like this shot partly because he hasn't rendered that "white nothingness" to which I referred, that a lot of waterfall shots show. As you say, there is some texture showing, and I like that.
